Resident Resources

What's New

In 2007, we hired a Service Coordinator Supervisor who has expertise in handling difficult issues, especially in the area of mental health. We are now able to provide an even broader range of assistance to our elderly and disabled residents.

Assistance to residents in 2007 included:

  • Referring a tenant with cerebral palsy to the Cerebral Palsy Association who was then better able to continue to live independently
  • Providing lonely elderly and disabled residents (especially those suffering with mental illness) with "someone who cares and listens"
  • Arranging a grant from Helpline to purchase a power chair battery for a resident with spinal bifida
  • Bringing in interpreters to help communicate with non-English speaking residents
  • Advocating for families that face eviction
  • Arranging for visits by young people to help lift the spirits of elderly/disabled residents
  • Coordinating with high school students to provide a Christmas party and caroling at two residences
